Summary As a Veterinary Medical Officer (Agriculture Quarantine Inspection), you have field oversight responsibility for operational procedures established to prevent the introduction and establishment of infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases of livestock and poultry and plant pests and diseases into the United States through the medium of imported animal products, animal by-products, and related materials such as regulated garbage (i.e., animal disease exclusion activities). Responsibilities The duties may include, but are not limited to: Ensure appropriate and consistent application of regulations, policies, and guidelines dealing with APHIS animal disease exclusion activities at U.S. ports of entry. Ensure appropriate and consistent handling of animal products, animal by-products, and APHIS regulated garbage.
