Disorders of the autonomic nervous system are common in many areas of medicine. The clinical picture of these disorders is dominated by autonomic symptoms and signs such as orthostatic intolerance, postural tachycardia syndrome, orthostatic hypotension, among others.

Autonomic disorder specialists are in high demand thanks to increased awareness and specialized testing that allowed a comprehensive evaluation of autonomic pathways. Autonomic specialists interact with other medical specialties to provide a multidisciplinary, comprehensive evaluation and management of these patients.
