Uncertified Temporary Educational Assistant (London)

Position Summary

Educational Assistants provide support to students with a variety of special needs including physical, developmental and behavioural. They work with children with special needs in classroom settings, either integrated mainstream or contained classrooms. Candidates also must perform essential physical duties such as toileting, lifting, transferring and personal care.

Position Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in one of the following diploma programs: Development Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Educational Assistant, Educational Support, or Early Childhood Education.
• Equivalent college or university degree in a child‑related field such as Social Service Work, Sociology, Psychology, Disability Studies, Child and Youth Studies, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• A current BMS (Behavior Management Systems) training certificate would be considered an asset.
