Job Summary
The Transportation Supervisor is an entry‑level front‑line supervisor responsible for meeting CN’s service commitments by managing day‑to‑day train operations within a territory or terminal and the unionised train crews associated. The incumbent learns the operation, organizes the territory to ensure safe, efficient departures, and complies with governing regulations and CN’s operating rules. The role may also be on‑call from remote locations, handling customer and main‑line concerns, and manages a 24/7 function.
Main Responsibilities
Safety Orientation, Understanding, Compliance and Enforcement
- Attend Front Line Supervisor Development Programs to learn the organization’s rules and regulations.
- Coach and train unionised employees on safe and productive work procedures.
- Build safety compliance and improve safety results through regular observations, provide feedback and take action on non‑compliant behaviour.
