1 South is an acute care surgical short stay unit caring for orthopaedic , plastic surgery, general surgery and gynecological surgical patients. Patients are transferred after Phase II PACU and continue their recovery and discharged either same day or POD #1. Patients requiring a blood transfusion are also cared for on this unit.
