Supervisor Plant Operations

Position Description

Reporting to the Manager, PGCRL Facilities Operations, the Supervisor, PGCRL Facilities Operations will oversee the general operation, mechanical and electrical maintenance, repair and minor installation activities for the Peter Gilgan Center for Research and Learning (PGCRL) SickKids facility to provide a safe and comfortable environment for researchers and staff. He/she will monitor the operations, making sure that equipment is safe, efficient and reliable. The Supervisor, PGCRL Facilities Operations will supervise staff and deal with scheduling and labor-related issues including discipline procedures. He/she will also negotiate service contracts with the mechanical, electrical and fire safety equipment service suppliers and supervise maintenance work, including minimizing cost and maximizing operational efficiencies through the supervision of full-time unionized staff and contract workers (as needed).
