Overview Design Engineer at Ashby is a hybrid role that combines hands‑on design and engineering to build a high‑quality, scalable talent‑acquisition platform. The role focuses on delivering cohesive, beautiful, and functional UI/UX while simultaneously shipping code to hundreds of thousands of users.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve the toughest design problems on the platform.
Expand and maintain the company’s design system, creating flexible, composable components that enable consistent experiences across the product.
Consult with product engineers on bespoke design work required for new features.
Build core UI features such as the mobile web app, candidate assessment views, and interactive wizards that drive user productivity.
Iterate on designs rapidly, shipping to a subset of users, and refine based on real‑time feedback.
