Sr. International Trade & Compliance Supervisor (IMMEX - Steel Industry)

Position Objective

Ensure strict legal, tax, and customs compliance for IMMEX program operations and VAT/IEPS Certification . Optimize duty deferral for temporary raw metal imports, and secure a seamless cross‑border logistical flow to the United States under the USMCA framework.

Critical Responsibilities (Mexico & IMMEX)

• Annex 24 and 30 Management: Oversee the inventory control system for temporarily imported goods. Track legal stay limits closely to eliminate tax liabilities from expired materials.
• USMCA Article 303 Application: Calculate and determine applicable duties for non-originating components integrated into steel exported to the US. Manage duty deferral restrictions and drawback formulas.
• VAT/IEPS Certification Maintenance: Secure continuous compliance with SAT regulations to maintain the 100% tax credit on VAT for temporary imports.
