QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge

• Baccalaureate degree in Social Work required; Master’s degree preferred
• Must be able to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
• Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)
• Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an asset
• Recent clinical experience (within last 2 years) in a mental health and/or addictions setting
• Demonstrate experience with substance use interventions (i.e. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Stages of Change)
• Experience developing and facilitating group psychotherapy is an asset
