Opportunity Description
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned vessels to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective performance in line with OSM Thome procedures, international regulations (ISM, ISPS, MLC), ISO, and customer expectations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vessel operations, ensuring alignment between the vessel’s senior management team and shore-based support functions.
- Monitor and follow up on class, flag, port state, and third-party inspections; ensure timely rectification of deficiencies, certification compliance, and readiness for audits.
- Supervise crew selection, performance evaluation, and wellbeing of senior officers; support crewing decisions and maintain high standards of onboard leadership.
- Develop and control the vessel’s annual operating budget, manage cost performance, and support procurement, invoice approvals, and insurance claims.
