Job Description

ASAs will appear in the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland and represent the State in criminal cases. Each attorney is responsible for litigating his/her assigned cases, to include:

• Advising police entities on investigations
• Reviewing and approving search and seizure warrants
• Providing discovery
• Summonsing and interviewing witnesses
• Obtaining physical and digital evidence for use at trial
• Preparing pleadings
• Litigating pre‑trial motions
• Litigating jury/bench trials
• Litigating sentencing hearings
• Litigating post‑conviction and reconsideration of sentence motions
• Other duties as assigned
