Summary About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama, just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Responsibilities Incumbent will execute assigned safety and occupational health program(s) to meet regulatory and mission requirements. Investigate and analyze accidents occurring in munitions and industrial areas to determine cause and contributing factors; prepares written accident reports concerning findings. Assist senior safety specialists in the development of safety criteria for new equipment and facilities in munitions and industrial areas. Conducts surveys and inspections of buildings, structures, shop equipment areas, work practices, operations, facilities, mechanical processes and personnel to determine adequacy of safety program in assigned organizational element.
