RWE Writing Instructor

Responsibilities

• The chief duty of the Writing Instructor for the RWE program is to support students wishing to expand their active vocabulary, increase their academic language competence and confidence, and develop critical reading, thinking and writing skills over a sustained period.
• The instructor’s responses model a rich spectrum of language usage and good academic integrity practices.
• The writing instructor will hold 30-minute in-person meetings every two weeks (or weekly, where needed in individual cases) and provide personalized feedback and guidance to student posts on Quercus.
• Instructors are responsible for encouraging their students to keep up with the daily reading and writing routine of the program and nurturing students’ academic writing ability.
• Instructors will guide students in the development of academic vocabulary and academic writing style using relevant academic resources.
