Registered Nurse – Neonatal

Location: Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, New Plymouth, New Zealand. Full‑time on‑site, 0.8 FTE.

Overview

We invite you to join our level2A neonatal unit, where the focus is evidence‑based care for newborns and family‑centred support. The unit has eight cot spaces, including two dedicated to intensive care. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to stay with their infant 24hours a day, and kangaroo care is supported.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to newborns in a level2A neonatal unit.
• Work in a team of 3‑4 nurses per shift; shifts are 8‑hour rostered and rotating across a 7‑day cycle, with a mid‑shift service four days per week.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, including medical staff, social workers, neonatal home‑care nurses, speech‑language therapists, and neuro‑developmental therapists.
