OVERVIEW

The REGISTERED DIETITIAN (RD) in the outpatient and day treatment Eating Disorders Program is an integral member of the interprofessional team and a specialist in the delivery of nutrition therapy in eating disorders. The RD provides services based on standards of quality and evidence-based practice, collects and interprets patient health data, completes a comprehensive nutrition assessment, and determines a nutrition diagnosis. 

In partnership with the patient, their families and the health care team, the RD establishes priorities, strategies and nutrition interventions that allow the patient to achieve optimal health outcomes. The RD monitors and evaluates clinical outcomes. The RD works as an integral team member to empower patients and familieswith knowledge and support to achieve their treatment goals.
