About the Role
This position is focused on quality review and coding accuracy for OB/GYN medical records. The role supports revenue cycle operations by validating documentation, applying the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, and helping ensure compliant billing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Examine patient charts, physician documentation, operative notes, and discharge summaries related to obstetrics and gynecology services.
Apply the appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for OB/GYN diagnoses and procedures.
Code services covering prenatal and postnatal care, labor and delivery, gynecological procedures such as hysterectomy and laparoscopy, and infertility treatments.
Confirm that the medical record contains sufficient support for coding and billing decisions.
Detect coding mismatches, gaps, and claim denials, then work toward resolution.
Maintain strong standards for both coding accuracy and productivity.
