- Interpret and review technical documents, blueprints, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and project-specific inspection and test plans (ITP).
- Inspect materials and welding consumables to ensure they match specifications and have the required certification and traceability.
- Verify welder qualifications and maintain current records of their certifications and performance.
- Conduct fit‑up inspections, verify joint preparation, and monitor preheating processes to ensure compliance with procedures before welding begins.
- Monitor welding processes to ensure welders adhere to the correct parameters and use the proper techniques and equipment.
- Perform visual inspections and dimensional checks on completed welds to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, or undercut.
