Summary This position is located in the Pricing Policy Division (PPD), Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), in Washington, DC. Relocation expenses will not be paid. THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT MAY BE USED TO FILL ADDITIONAL POSITIONS WITHIN 90 DAYS. Responsibilities The incumbent serves as a senior public utilities specialist and an expert in common carrier regulatory matters. Examines complex tariff filings for adherence to the requirements of the Communications Act and the Commission's rules to evaluate whether such filings are just and reasonable and not unreasonably discriminatory. Analyzes proposed rates, terms, and conditions, and advises carriers on filing and notice requirements. Investigates attempts to avoid compliance with the Act and Commission rules, particularly through vague, confusing and needlessly complicated tariff language or misleading characterizations of tariff filings.
