Project Accountant

OverviewWe are hiring aProject Accountantto join a Toronto-based engineering consulting firm. This role reports to the Controller and is pivotal in overseeing multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, billing, cash collection, and reporting. The Project Accountant will collaborate with the accounting team to ensure monthly completion of project policies and procedures and contribute to year-end financial reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide project updates to the Controller on a monthly basis or as issues arise, offering insights into the financial health of projects.
Prepare client invoices in line with company procedures, client requirements, and contractual terms.
Monitor invoice aging and manage cash collections.
Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments as necessary.
Maintain project setups in the company’s project management system, ensuring accurate coding and compliance.
