Professor of the Practice, Computer Science

Job Summary

/Basic Function: The Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics (CSMP) Department at Wheaton College is seeking applicants for a Professor of Practice position starting Fall . The successful candidate will play an active role in guiding the future of the Computer Science major and other related majors within the department through advising and participation in shared governance structures.

The typical teaching load for the position is 3 courses per semester (Fall/Spring). For each course, the responsibilities of the selected candidate will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Teaching effectively in an in-person environment that encourages student-faculty interactions.

Creating a syllabus (with assistance, if desired) to be provided to students and posted on the course’s Canvas site.

Grading assignments within appropriate time frames and posting grades on Canvas.
