Position Summary/Description:
An NIH -funded Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, for a self-motivated scientist to study the role of laminin-binding integrins in lung development, alveolar homeostasis, and alveolar repair. We utilize lung-specific transgenic mouse models along with ex vivo models, in vitro assays, transcriptomics, and proteomics to study the fundamental mechanisms whereby integrins and their ligands, basement membrane components collagen IV and laminin, regulate epithelial cell behavior in both health and disease. Highly motivated applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
