KEY FUNCTION

Perform essential Pharmacy medication distribution and control functions according to the standards and guidelines articulated by governing bodies and applicable Acts and Regulations for the service of the Hospital Pharmacy.

REPORTING

Under the general direction of the Manager, Pharmacy Operations.

DUTIES

1. Prepare, validate and dispense medication for inpatients.
2. Prepare and validate sterile and non-sterile compounds.
3. Utilize and ensure functionality of packaging automation (e.g., Swisslog Pillpicker, ARxium Fastpak, etc.) to package medications into unit doses.
4. Operate and maintain automation systems (e.g., Swisslog Pillpicker, Pyxis ADUs, CII safe, etc.) for drug distribution.
5. Order, receive and return medications to and from pharmaceutical suppliers.
6. Maintain department work areas by ensuring tidiness.
