**Job Description**
Reporting to the Director of Spiritual Care and Education, the Per-Diem Chaplain is responsible for addressing the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff at Mount Sinai Hospital. The Per-Diem Chaplain joins a dynamic team within the Department of Spiritual Care and Education, fostering collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary care teams and contributing to the well-being of the Mount Sinai community. The Per-Diem Chaplain position may be temporary or part-time.
The Per‑Diem Chaplain is responsible for on‑call coverage—primarily on weeknights, at least once weekly—from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. the following morning. Additional coverage on weekends and holidays may be required. The role serves the Manhattan hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System.
