Purpose of the Parts Buyer (Automotive) Job

To ensure the availability of automotive parts as required by the business, on time and correctly. Ensuring the correct specifications, stock, inventory and stores control.

Key Responsibilities Sourcing & Procurement: Obtain and compare quotes, negotiate pricing, and finalize purchase orders with local and international suppliers. Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, flag high-risk or long-lead items, and manage fast- or slow-moving stock. Order Tracking: Track open orders from dispatch to delivery, coordinate shipping, and expedite urgent shipments to avoid operational delays. Quality Assurance: Verify received parts against purchase orders and supplier invoices; process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) accurately.
