Position Purpose
The Painter Grade 1 is responsible for preparing and painting all Zoo assets and maintenance of the physical plant. This position will assist and provide support in implementing the Strategic Plan.
Core Role Responsibilities
- Prepares various surfaces such as wood, metal, masonry, concrete, drywall and compositions for finishing or painting.
- Mix colours or tints for paint or stains.
- May be required to apply wall coverings.
- Some elevated work requiring use of ladders, scaffolding, zoom boom and elevated platforms.
- Operates power tools and specialized painting equipment.
- Special event set‑up including animal shades, tents, banners etc.
