Orthopaedic Technologist

The successful incumbent will work under the direction of physicians and in collaboration with other members of the health care team; provide care to clients with orthopaedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of casts, splints and traction fittings; perform casting services primarily in the Fracture Clinic setting; dressing removal, removal sutures, staples and pins related to external fixation; cast application (including specialized casts, fracture braces using plaster or synthetic materials; measures and fit patients for othopaedic devices and ambulatory aids; instruction of patients regarding care and proper use of appliances; assist in the application, maintenance and adjustment of traction including patient education; fabricate and apply splints and bandages; instruction of Patient/family in the care of the cast, slab or brace; order and maintain equipment and orthopaedic supplies; collaborate with other health care ...
