Opportunity Description
The Ophthalmic Assistant provides clinical support to ophthalmologists, optometrists, and residents by assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders. This position performs ophthalmic testing, prepares patients for examination, documents clinical information, and helps ensure efficient clinic operations while providing excellent patient care.
+ Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting medical and ocular histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
+ Measure and record visual acuity, intraocular pressure, pupil responses, extraocular motility, confrontation visual fields, and other basic ophthalmic assessments.
+ Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing, visual fields, corneal topography, pachymetry, biometry, and other testing as assigned.
+ Administer ophthalmic medications and diagnostic drops as directed.
