Department

Inpatient Medicine is located on the top floor of the hospital (3rd floor) – Pods C and D, often referred to as Pod C3 and D3. Most patients are admitted from the Emergency Department or transferred from the Critical Care Unit or Surgical Unit. The unit treats patients for medical conditions with stays of 1 – 5 days.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration – College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certificate (within the last 12 months)
• Recent medical/surgical clinical experience in an active care setting (within the last 2–3 years)
• Recent palliative care experience
• Current certificate in IV Therapy and Central Line Management
• Experience with Central Venous Lines Management (CVC), Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) certification, Continuous Ambulatory Delivery Device (CADD) pumps, enteral feeding care, tracheostom...
