Summary This vacancy is for a GS-0871-13, Naval Architect located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG MARINE SAFETY CENTER in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia. Responsibilities You will serve as an Naval Architect and be responsible for reviewing specifications, plans, and calculations for passenger vessels, towing vessels, cargo/industrial vessels, tank vessels, tank barges, and offshore supply vessels to ensure compliance with all applicable Coast Guard and international regulations, and to confirm that the vessels are safe for intended service with regard to structural adequacy, stability, arrangements, fire protection, lifesaving, pollution, cargo/passenger safety, and such other areas under the disciplines of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering that may be regulated.
