Organizational Setting

FAO supports the Government of Jamaica through the FAO Jamaica Country Office to advance climate‑resilient, inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems, focusing on vulnerable rural communities and smallholder farmers.

Reporting Lines

The National Environmental & Social Safeguards Specialist reports to the FAO technical officer designated as Project Manager and is ultimately supervised by the FAO Representative in Jamaica and the Assistant FAO Representative Programme.

Technical Focus

Providing operational support for the implementation of the FAO Environmental and Social Management Framework, ensuring safeguards are integrated into the project lifecycle and that screening, monitoring, participation and grievance mechanisms are maintained.
