Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technologist reports to the Laboratory Manager or designate and is responsible and accountable for laboratory testing performed according to established laboratory protocols in one or more areas of the Laboratory. The candidate will be scheduled in Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, and possibly Histology. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will demonstrate aptitude in Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine and Histology disciplines according to theory, technique, skill in performing procedures, knowledge of those procedures and the implications of Quality Control and Quality Assurance. The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations.
