Requirements

• Appropriate qualification in psychiatry which allows registration as a specialist psychiatrist with HPCSA. Current registration with HPCSA as specialist psychiatrist or proof of application for registration with HPCSA. Sound clinical knowledge and skills in psychiatry. Interest in child and adolescent psychiatry and perinatal mental health. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures pertaining to mental health care users. Computer literacy. A valid driver’s license is essential.

• The management of mental health related problems in individuals younger than 18 years at a multi-disciplinary clinic.
