Manager, Tax (St. Catharines)

Durward Jones Barkwell, a leading public accounting firm in the Niagara, Hamilton, and Halton regions, is looking for a Tax Manager as part of its permanent, full‑time team. The successful candidate will work from St. Catharines, Hamilton, or Burlington with hybrid options after the first three months.

Position Details: Salary range $113,000–$148,500. Structured bonus program and benefits plan available.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax planning engagements for corporate reorganisations, estate and post‑mortem planning, business succession, and M&A transactions.
• Review instruction letters, prepare technical tax memos, and provide guidance to clients, legal counsel, and internal teams.
• Approve tax compliance filings for individuals, corporations, trusts, partnerships and related foreign reporting requirements.
• Conduct tax research, interpret legislation, and develop proactive recommendations for clients and leadership.
