What You’ll Do
The Manager, Commodity Tax, will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day management of indirect tax affairs, managing tax audits, and ensuring proper monthly tax compliance.Oversee, review, and assist with the preparation of indirect tax returns and ensure they are filed accurately and on a timely basis.Stay current on sales tax changes; analyse the implications of any changes to federal and provincial commodity tax rules, published rulings, interpretations, and court cases, and communicate to the appropriate businesses.Manage federal and provincial commodity tax audits including participation to negotiate and settle audit disputes.Train, mentor, and develop other team associates to encourage cross training, succession, and compelling career paths.Determine federal and provincial commodity tax implications of recurring and unusual transactions with a view to minimising tax cost to the CTC group and its subsidiaries.Communicate and interact with various outside st...
