About the job Machine Operator - Mechanically Inclined
Perform duties to set up punch press or laser punch / cutter to cut, contour or bevel specified metal sheets to defined specifications and set and operate a range of metal fabrication equipment to cut, notch and shape metal parts, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice.
- Operate punch & laser working from job packets, job-specific cut sheet, bend list, material usage list, blueprints, quality checklist or drawings.
- Punch Operation - Perform machine startup, determine die clearance for gauge of material. Change die tooling as needed. Select specific job and pack list, send from Network drive location to controller on punch. Read blank, check clamp settings (make adjustments as needed), place sheet metal in clamps (adjust as needed), set X-gauge block, zero metal into clamps and against X-gauge.
