Library Unit Manager, Central Library Oodi

Overview

We are looking for a substitute to lead the media culture unit at the Central Library Oodi, one of Helsinki City Library's 38 branches. Oodi is a modern library with 68 employees across six teams and operates with a flat hierarchy and community‑driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the media culture unit, including about 15 direct reports.
• Oversee the maintenance of Oodi's premises and the operation of its workshop and studio services.
• Coordinate with service providers, partners and technology companies to deliver media and cultural services.
• Participate in international tasks and serve on Oodi's five‑member management team.
• Promote Oodi as a developer library and support staff in achieving goals through coaching leadership.
• Develop and improve digital skills for all staff and contribute to the renewal of service production and processes.
