Laboratory Technologist I - Molecular Genetics

As part of a team, the Laboratory Technologist I – Molecular Genetics will perform a variety of manual and automated procedures proficiently to produce accurate and timely results in the Molecular Genetics Laboratory within the Edmonton Zone of Alberta Precision Laboratories.

Specialized techniques include nucleic acid extraction, DNA quantification, DNA sequencing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real‑time PCR, allelic discrimination, fragment analysis, and next generation sequencing (NGS). The successful candidate will be required to perform data entry, routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of various laboratory instruments.
