Laboratory Analyst

Under supervision, performs basic laboratory techniques, assists in routine laboratory processes, prepares and analyzes environmental, fuels, and process samples. Performs sampling of potable water, wastewater, surface water, ground water, and other related sample matrices. Performs other related activities that support the organization's effort to excel in environmental stewardship. Job requires basic knowledge of JEA and regulatory standard operating processes for laboratory techniques, environmental sampling, safety practices and procedures, to sufficiently perform a limited range of routine technical tasks. Specific standard operating procedures that are provided require some judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate methods, techniques and procedures, rearranging work sequences in specific cases.
