The Lab Assistant supports daily laboratory operations by accurately entering and managing specimen information, performing basic phlebotomy-related tasks, and assisting with documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. This role combines data entry, transcription, and patient-focused support to ensure timely and accurate processing of samples and related medical information.
Responsibilities
+ Enter sample and specimen information accurately and efficiently into the EMR system.
+ Transcribe laboratory-related information and documentation with a high level of accuracy.
+ Type addendums and updates to patient and laboratory records as needed.
+ Perform or support phlebotomy-related tasks such as venipuncture, blood drawing, butterfly needle use, and specimen collection, as allowed by training and certification.
