Sqwá First Nation - Kindergarten Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent)
Sqwá First Nation is seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to provide a culturally enriched learning experience for children aged 5-6, preparing them for Grade 1 while supporting their academic, social, emotional, and cultural development. Under the direction of the Principal and/or Designate, the successful candidate will deliver engaging, play‑based instruction aligned with the BC Curriculum while integrating Stóō culture, traditions, and values into daily learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare classroom materials (art supplies, dress‑up, playdough, etc.).
- Assist children during morning classes.
- Ensure work areas are clean and organized before and after activities.
- Guide children in tidying up materials after use.
- Communicate with parents regarding behavioural observations as needed.
