Journeyperson Painter & Decorator

Become a part of the Capital Planning & Operations team as a skilled Painter & Decorator in Fredericton, NB. This full-time role involves maintenance and repair work at a journeyman level.
As a Painter & Decorator reporting to the Paint Shop Foreperson, you will apply finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces and prepare surfaces for new coatings. You are expected to erect scaffolding for high-altitude work, mix paints, and oversee the work of helpers. This position contributes significantly to maintaining a safe and welcoming campus environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply painting finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning and priming before painting
• Erect scaffolding and ladders safely for elevated work
• Mix paints to match required features and characteristics
• Supervise Trades helpers and allocate tasks efficiently
