About the Role

  • Fit and weld pipe and fittings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints/drawings for welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene equipment.
  • Operate flame-cutting and plasma cutting equipment.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are maintained.
  • Assist in development of estimates and time allotted.
  • Conduct inspections, repairs, modifications and retrofits.
  • Monitor standard parts usage and report to the Welder Supervisor on any material issues.
  • Provide daily updates to the Welder Supervisor on job progression and tracking.
