PLC Programmer

PLC Programmer reporting to the Automation Manager, responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs. Based in Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for PLC/HMI/SCADA programming in office and onsite.
• Manage testing, start‑up and commissioning onsite.
• Meet with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs.
• Provide client technical support via telephone and remote access to commissioned sites.
• Draw electrical or mechanical schematics for process demonstration.
• Develop and install machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
• Set up computers, networking equipment and configuration.
• Test automated systems for efficiency, safety and reliability.
• Troubleshoot system errors.
• Ensure all supporting documentation is completed thoroughly and accurately.
