Job Description (Duties)
Work assignments may take place at various industrial sites across Alberta. Transportation or living out allowance (LOA) may be provided depending on project requirements.
- Lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and/or fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and installation requirements
- Cut openings in walls, floors, and ceilings to install piping systems
- Select appropriate materials, sizes, and fittings based on project requirements
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- Join piping sections by welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, or threading joints
