Job Description

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is seeking a full‑time Intensivist with base specialty training in either Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Anesthesiology to join our group.

Responsibilities

• Handle all critically ill patients in the catchment area with support of point‑of‑care ultrasound, percutaneous tracheostomy, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), transesophageal echocardiography, and bronchoscopy.
• Provide coverage of a 15‑bed level‑2 intensive care unit, including daytime and night call duties shared with a second intensivist.
• Cover the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU), provide consultations, and code‑blue coverage during daytime hours.
• Provide care and coordination of community‑based care, secondary and tertiary level health care.
• Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
