Information & Loans Technician

Position Summary

Information & Loans Technician – U of T Mississauga Library. Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Information and Loans, the incumbent will deliver excellent customer service, respond to information requests, provide directional assistance to users, and support library technology and course syllabus services. The role requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays on a set full‑time schedule of alternating days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries.
• Provide detailed information regarding library rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Retrieve, compile, and file borrowing and lending requests.
• Ensure circulation policies are correctly administered.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine issues.
• Handle fees and fines on a regular basis.
