Industrial Electrician - Substation and Utility (Kamloops)

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the role of Journeyperson Electrician is to perform maintenance, upgrading and installation of equipment in 13.8kV to 500kV substations. The Journeyperson Electrician reads and interprets drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications, plans layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on specifications, inspects electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects and ensure compliance with codes. This senior role requires performance evaluation, coaching, mentoring and training of Electrical Apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of different electrical systems, faulty equipment and apparatus including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, switchgears, instrument transformers, relays and other related equipment (500kV, 240kV, 144kV, 69kV, 25kV, 13.8kV).
