Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, timely advice on employment relations, performance management, and workplace issues
- Ensure all advice is grounded in NZ employment legislation, policy, and best practice
- Identify and manage legal, reputational and operational risk, escalating where required
- Lead and support ER matters from initial issue through to outcome
- Conduct or support investigations, ensuring procedural fairness and natural justice
- Draft and quality assure documentation (letters, summaries, risk assessments, outcomes)
- Ensure all cases are well-documented, auditable, and legally robust
- Coach and support people leaders to confidently manage ER situations
- Promote early intervention and informal resolution where appropriate
- Strengthen manager self-sufficiency while ensuring consistency and compliance
