Healthcare Assistant - Neurosurgery and Neurology

Position Details

1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) fixed‑term position available in Ward B8, Waipapa Building at Christchurch Hospital. The role is rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Sunday – Morning, Afternoon and Night. The position is available until 8 February 2027 as replacement for parental leave.

About the Role

An integral part of the multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including personal care
• Clean and tidy the ward / housekeeping
• Stock the ward with supplies
• Assist the nursing team with a variety of tasks on the ward
• Ensure that patients have the best experience possible
• Prioritise patient safety at all times
