The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Geriatrics has an opening for a full time Geriatrician based in Duncan to join a team of 11 Geriatricians working across Vancouver Island.

The Cowichan District Hospital, a 148-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere among the general and specialty medical staff.

As part of the interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will work with a geriatric psychiatrist, family physicians, and local medical specialists, as well as liaising with Home and Community Care teams.

The successful candidate will provide inpatient consultation to patients in the Cowichan District Hospital up to 2 days per week, working with an RN functioning as a Seniors Nurse Consultant within the hospital. The hospital is set to expand to 182‑204 beds by 2026 and there is opportunity to...
